Woman's Fire Death a Suicide

Summary

BLOOMINGTON - The death of a Bloomington woman in a fire Nov. 2 was the result of a suicide, a coroner's jury ruled Thursday.

Joanne Ford, 52, was depressed and may have set at least 10 small fires in her home at 1306 Townley Road, according to Bloomington Fire Department investigator Mark Visintine. One of those fires ignited the couch and likely was the source of a large blaze that killed Ford, said the investigator.
