WAPELLA <\ A 36-year-old Wapella woman was charged with drunken driving after a crash early Monday killed one of her passengers and left her and another passenger in serious condition, police said.

Charity A. Jackson-Whitted was driving east on Illinois 48 at County Road 400 North near Morrisonville in southwestern Christian County at about 1:50 a.m. when she lost control of the car, state police said in a statement.
