The Normal Community High School volleyball team, led by junior Mary Trimpe, won two of three matches in the first day of the Lyons Quad Invite at LaGrange.

NCHS opened the tourney with a 25-14, 15-25, 25-16 win over Minooka but dropped its second match to host school Lyons Township 25-19, 25-23. The Ironmen (6-2) rebounded with a 25-22, 25-23 victory over Joliet Township, avenging a loss suffered earlier this season.
