BLOOMINGTON - Defendants convicted of participating in the same crime should do the same time, a judge said Monday in handing an 18- year-old man the same 16-year sentence given a co-defendant in a carjacking last summer.

Maurice Richards of Joliet was one of three teens accused of hijacking a car at gunpoint in June from a Bloomington man.
