OMAHA, Neb. - Monica Drake and Caitlin Hamilton of the Bloomington-Normal YMCA Waves swim team far exceeded their seedings during the 400-meter freestyle preliminaries at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials on Monday at the Qwest Center.
The 17-year-old Drake, who came in seeded 42nd at 4 minutes, 16.36 seconds, clocked a lifetime best of 4:16.20 to finish 32nd. It took 4:12.25 to advance to the eight-woman final. Katie Hoff had the top preliminary time of 4:05.61.See the full content of this document
