Summary


To paraphrase the brooding Prince of Denmark, "Alas, poor Nuance, I knew him well."

Over the past decade, nuance has been practically driven from American political discourse. Nowadays, proper denunciation of the cynical manipulation of religious sentiment for electoral gain is Orwellianly condemned as "...persecution of people of faith." This, of course, is either simplistic thinking or calculated disingenuity, and, considering the usual sources, the latter is far more probable.
