It is no secret that Abraham Lincoln loved Central Illinois. Living in New Salem as a young adult, Abraham Lincoln began to study law and held several jobs ranging from postmaster to store clerk.
As a lawyer living in Springfield, he often rode the 8th Judicial Circuit arguing cases in communities such as Lincoln, Decatur, Mount Pulaski and Taylorville. He also spent a great deal of time in Bloomington, which resulted in a strong relationship with Judge David Davis, who helped him secure the Republican presidential nomination.See the full content of this document
