Standing Crops Slow Deer Harvest

Summary


Hunters bagged the lowest number of white-tail deer in eight years during the just-completed firearm season, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources said Wednesday.

Preliminary figures show the total harvest was 99,419 for the seven-day season. That number is down from 105,595 a year ago and the lowest harvest since 2001 when 94,853 were taken.
