NORMAL - Acknowledging "we needed to make some adjustments," Illinois State football coach Brock Spack has made a change atop his defensive coaching staff after the unit allowed nearly 40 points per game in 2010.
Spack has hired veteran coach Steve Szabo as the Redbirds' defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. Phil Elmassian, ISU's defensive coordinator the past two seasons, was named assistant head coach and will continue working with the Redbird secondary.See the full content of this document
