In "Obese may face same treatment as smokers" (Your Views, Jan. 25), Ms. Locke misrepresented the relationship between obesity and smoking.

The first major difference is that while some have unhealthy eating habits, they are not "addicted" to food. However, the nicotine in cigarettes makes smokers very much addicted to their habit.
