Sen. Brady On Wrong Side of Smoking-Control Issue

Summary


State Sen. Bill Brady's vote against a bill to allow communities to ban smoking in public places is disappointing and, according to at least one poll, it doesn't reflect the beliefs of the majority of the constituents he is supposed to represent.

Seventy percent of Bloomington-Normal area residents surveyed by Illinois Wesleyan University last year supported a ban on smoking in restaurants, although less than a third supported a similar ban for bars.
