GENEVA - The Peoria Chiefs scored three runs in the first and cruised to a crucial 8-1 Midwest League win over the Kane County Cougars on Saturday. The win moves the Chiefs to 30-23, just two games behind the Cougars (33-22) for the first half wild card.
Rebel Ridling's first-inning single plated two runs and a fielder's choice off the bat of Ryan Flaherty staked Peoria to a 3- 0 lead.
