NORMAL - It wasn't the postseason bid the Illinois State women's basketball team was hoping for, but the Redbirds weren't complaining Monday night after they earned a first-round bye and a home game in the National Invitation Tournament.

ISU (24-7), which was upset by Evansville in the first round of last weekend's Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, will host the winner of Thursday's game between SMU (20-11) and Louisiana Tech (20- 12). The date and time of the second round game will be announced Tuesday.
