BLOOMINGTON -- A number of Bloomington families making plans to move by April 30 got a reprieve Thursday when housing officials received word emergency federal funds would allow the families to stay in their homes.

"We're ecstatic about the funding and that we're not going to create hardships for our families," said Kim Holman-Short, director of the Bloomington Housing Authority.
