Summary


I read, with amazement, your opinion piece from Nov. 21 entitled "Bad intelligence doesn't mean Bush lied." It reminded me of the old saying that "if it looks like a duck, and swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck; it's probably a duck."

When the secretary of the Treasury came out publicly and stated that the invasion of Iraq was a topic of conversation in the first cabinet meeting just two days following his first inauguration; when shortly after 9/11, high ranking military in the Pentagon were amazed that there were orders coming from the White House to formulate a plan to invade Iraq; and when the "Downing Street Memos" surface and clearly stated that pre-war intelligence would be "fixed around American policy"; I'd say we "have a duck."
