Pontiac City Council to Vote On Annexing 1,088 Acres

PONTIAC -- The land within Pontiac's city limits could increase by almost a third and encompass a second interstate exit if the City Council approves annexing several pieces of land north of town.

The council will consider a proposal Monday to add 1,088 acres of land that includes the intersection of Interstate 55 and Illinois 23 to the city. There will be a public hearing at 7 p.m. before the council considers the matter.
