BLOOMINGTON - The April 7 trial of a former Bloomington police officer accused of raping four women will begin on schedule, a judge ruled Monday, over objections from the defense that prosecutors have been slow in handing over evidence that could be used in the trial.

Jeff Pelo, 43, is charged with sexually assaulting four women between 2002 and 2005 and stalking another woman for a year before he was stopped outside her home in June 2006.
