Migratory Bird Day
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host an international event from 8 to 11:30 a.m. May 9 at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center and General Dacey Trail. Expert birders will be on hand for an early morning bird hike at 8 a.m. starting at the General Dacey Trail picnic shelter in Shelbyville's Forest Park. The Illinois Raptor Center from Decatur will present a live birds of prey presentation at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center starting at 10 a.m. Bluebird experts from the East Central Illinois Bluebird Society also will be there with bluebird houses and answers to all of your questions about bluebirds.
