BLOOMINGTON - A Normal man was acquitted of sexual assault Tuesday in a case in which he was accused of having sex with a woman after she had passed out from a night of partying.

A jury deliberated for a little more than an hour before acquitting Edwin Mahan, 33, on charges that he raped the woman Aug. 8, 2004, at an apartment in Normal.
