In today's article ("Step right up," April 20, Page D1) concerning the visit of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, it was stated that the Greatest Show on Earth had never been to Bloomington-Normal. Unless O'Neil Park was located outside of the city limits in 1947 this statement is incorrect.
According to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Combined Shows Official Route Books on file at the circus collection in Milner Library, RBBB showed in Bloomington as late as Aug. 19, 1947.See the full content of this document
