For some people -- and you know who you are -- the summer movie season begins and ends with this weekend, in a galaxy far, far away. Nothing else matters. Nothing else can top it.

Even so, we're wagering that come June you'll have recovered sufficiently to realize that neither life nor summer movie seasons begin/end in that galaxy far, far away. The galaxy right here has plenty to offer, even without George Lucas' help.

It just may not seem that way today -- May 19, 2005, as Lucas' 27- year-old "Star Wars" franchise comes to its overdue close amid much hue and cry. Just remember, tomorrow IS another day. And then comes another. And another.

As you'll note from the following weekend-by-weekend preview-- starting with Memorial Day weekend and ending at Labor Day weekend - - there's almost a new summer movie to go with each one of those 'nother days.
