BLOOMINGTON - An investigation into how a dead but intact 4-inch- long lizard ended up in a salad at Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar in Bloomington on Aug. 1 is officially a cold case.

"Applebee's has concluded our own thorough investigation into this isolated incident and concurs with the McLean County Health Department's original statement that this was just an extraordinary circumstance," Miles McMillin, Applebee's senior manager of communications, said late Wednesday.
