SPRINGFIELD - Thousands of Illinois residents have taken advantage of a unique opportunity to comment on the state's budget and offer suggestions on how the state can best weather a $13 billion deficit.

Last week, Gov. Pat Quinn posted a preliminary budget outline at www.budget.illinois.gov. The site features an area where the public can comment on the numbers and offer cuts.
