BLOOMINGTON - The Illinois Wesleyan basketball team may feature three sets of twins Saturday when Elmhurst visits Shirk Center for a key College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin game:The Joneses, the Freemans and the Masked Marauders.Titans senior forward Steve Schweer had X-rays Thursday on what is likely a broken nose. Schweer did not know the results of those X-rays. He will see a doctor this morning and is likely to join teammate Zach Freeman in playing with a protective mask."Im pretty sure its broken. I heard it kind of crack when it happened," Schweer said Thursday. "Im not in any real pain. Im hoping Ill be able to play on Saturday."Freeman broke his nose in practice last week but it was decided surgery was not necessary."Im hoping if I do have surgery, I can put it off until the end of the year so I dont have to miss time," Schweer said. "Im sure Ill have a couple of options. Whatever gets me back faster is what I want to do."Schweer is averaging 14.5 minutes, 2.8 points and 3.6 rebounds for the Titans, who are 16-3 overall and 6-3 in the CCIW.Climbing the ladderIWU senior Keelan Amelianovich has moved into 14th place on the school career scoring list with 1,347 points. Directly ahead of Amelianovich is Eric Bridges with 1,353 points and Chris Simich with 1,363.Amelianovich is third with 220 career 3- pointers. He is chasing school record-holder Korey Coons mark of 245 and Mark Edmundsons second-place total of 235.Dauksas recorded his 500th career assist in Wednesdays win at North Central. His 506 assists trail only IWU career leader Brian Martins 524. Dauksas also is 16th with 1,317 points, fourth with 182 3-pointers and sixth with 337 free throws made.Wesleyan junior Zach Freeman needs seven rebounds to become the 19th player in school history to handle 500 career rebounds.Around the CCIWEurekas Chris Martin, a senior at Elmhurst, set a CCIW record with a 20-of-20 performance at the free throw line Wednesday in the Bluejays 76-71 victory at Millikin.Martin scored 38 points as Elmhurst improved to 14-6 and 6- 3 in the CCIW.Carthage will regain the services of sophomore guard Trey Bowens for Saturdays game at league league Augustana.Bowens started the first 10 Red Men games and was averaging 16.1 points. Bowens sat out the entire month of January because of academic ineligibility.
