MINONK - The Fieldcrest school board has approved adding a new math class to the Fieldcrest High School curriculum, but not without first voicing some concerns.

Math teacher Jonathan Hostetler told the board that Math Concepts will be a yearlong class geared toward juniors who are preparing to take their Prairie State Achievement Exams and ACT tests. It will be offered as an alternative to Algebra II and will be designed for students who need more review of elementary algebra concepts.
