This year, the City of Chicago pushed New Line Cinemas out of a sponsorship of a recent event because the company would have used it as an advertising vehicle for the movie "The Nativity Scene."

The city said the decision was based on the appropriateness of a company running a film reel and selling tickets during the event, but the city also acknowledged in a statement that it was concerned that "a very prominently placed advertisement may be insensitive to many people of different faiths who come to enjoy the market..."

The (Fake?) War On Christmas ; Is the Birthday for the Prince of Peace Really Under Attack?

The market? The "Christkindlmarket," an annual Christmastime event.

Its a war out there, a war to keep Christ in Christmas, say the warriors for Jesus, whose followers also call him Prince of Peace. Or is it hyperbole - a fictional war waged by people who present a bizarre picture of a wounded majority in a nation where Christmas fixings arrived in stores before Halloween?
