SPRINGFIELD Illinois state Rep. Mike Boland, D-East Moline, introduced legislation late last week to restore the jobs of 89 workers at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

The employees, who were laid off Friday, worked at state parks, wildlife areas, forestry districts and in administrative offices. The Spring Grove Hatchery in northern Illinois also closed Friday after two technicians were included in the layoffs.
