BLOOMINGTON -- Longtime activist Caribel Washington of Bloomington has seen progress toward racial equality since she heard Martin Luther King Jr. speak here in the 1960s.

But Washington, who turns 91 later this month, said Americans have much more to do before the nation realizes the goals King set forth in his famous, "I Have a Dream" speech.
