LEROY - Nancy R. Bloemke, 73, LeRoy, passed away at 11:02 a.m. Monday (Feb. 23, 2009) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Calvert-Belangee- Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy. The Rev. Mary Louise Haxton will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to ALS-Lou Gehrig's Disease.Mrs. Bloemke was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Peoria, daughter of Raymond O. and Velma Calhoon Gnuschke. She married Raymond D. Bailey on Dec. 31, 1954, in LeRoy. He passed away Dec. 6, 1980. She later married James D. Bloemke on March 12, 1986, in Las Vegas, Nev. He survives in LeRoy.Also surviving are two sons, Dennis (Terri) Bailey, Washington, Utah, and Scott Bailey, Louisville, Colo.; four daughters, Cindy Davis, Louisville, Colo.; Rhonda R. Bailey, LeRoy; Jill (John) Shull, Mattoon; and Lori (John) Simkavitz, Brighton, Colo.; three stepsons, Scott (Barb) Bloemke, Kalaheo, Kauai, Hawaii; Bradley Bloemke, Richardson, Texas; and Douglas (Susan) Bloemke, Taylorville; one stepdaughter, Jodi (Kyle) Gilbert, Greeley, Colo.; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Susan) Gnuschke, Memphis, Tenn., and David (Debbie) Gnuschke, Three Rivers, Texas; and two sisters, Beverly Bruhl, Salina, Kan., and Janet (Bob) Biven, Stillwater, Okla.She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Richard Gnuschke.Nancy was a computer drafting technician in the manufacturing engineering department at General Electric, Bloomington, for 32 years.
