* Alternate shoes daily.

Have at least two pairs of shoes for daily wear and alternate them. Shoes need to breathe and air out for at least 24 hours between uses.

* Wear shoes specific to the activity you're doing.

If you do a lot of walking, wear walking shoes. If you're a runner, wear running shoes.

* Wear shoes around the house.
