ST. LOUIS -- Southern Illinois junior guard Darren Brooks was named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year in voting by league coaches and media on Tuesday.
Brooks is the first Saluki to earn the league's highest honor since Chris Carr in 1995. Brooks joins Creighton's Kyle Korver (2002) as recent juniors to receive the honor.See the full content of this document
