SPRINGFIELD -- State officials are arguing again over whether the Illinois State Fair is a financial drain on state coffers.

In a report issued Tuesday, Illinois Auditor General William Holland said the 2003 state fair cost taxpayers more than $3.2 million, despite a state law requiring the fair to be self- supporting.
