NORMAL - The two District 6 candidate for the McLean County Board say they want the county to find new ways to generate revenue so it is a little less dependent on the financially ailing state.

Democrat Brian Plath, 34, 100 Lawrence Ave., is challenging Republican John McIntyre, who was appointed to the seat in 2008 after David Selzer moved out of the district. District 6 represents the central portion of Normal, generally bounded by Division and Main streets, College Avenue and Veterans Parkway.
