Amerenip has Route in Mind for Power Line

BLOOMINGTON - AmerenIP has identified its preferred route for a new, 345,000-volt transmission line in and around south Bloomington that the utility said will increase reliability and growth capacity.

Construction, with an estimated cost of $20 million, would start in early 2013 and finish by late 2014, Ameren spokesman Leigh Morris said at a press conference Monday. AmerenIP plans to file its petition with the Illinois Commerce Commission early next year, around the time it formally notifies landowners from whom the utility will seek easements.
