Summary
Asthe third spelling bee movie to come along in as many years - 2003s "Spellbound" and last years "Bee Season" preceded it - "Akeelah and the Bee" has to scrap, scramble and Scrabble to win us over.
If the third time isnt exactly the biggest charm (the documentary "Spellbound" pretty much sewed things up the first time), its at least a sincere little testimonial to the power of positive pre- teen thinking, a pastime pretty much disparaged at the movies these days.See the full content of this document
