NORMAL - Megan Harrington's hunt for a college was over once she found the family atmosphere she had fallen in love with at Gymnastics Etc. in Bloomington. Leggett, Isu Rally for Win in Volleyball

Mallory Leggett powered down 18 kills and the Illinois State volleyball team rallied for a 25-20, 22-25, 22-25, 25-20, 15-10 victory over Loyola in a nonconference match Tuesday at Chicago. "This was a great team effort," said ISU coach Melissa Myers. "A lot of people made contributions throughout the match to earn this win. It was great to see the team deal with the adversity of being down 2-1, especially on the road."

Pioneer senior Peter Schiller conceded his back-to-the-goal header off a free kick by John Munson "was a little awkward, but it went in" with 13:17 left in the first half.

Bhs Wins Volleyball Thriller Over U High

BLOOMINGTON - If Tuesday night's potboiler at the Robert Frank Sports Complex was any indication, Intercity volleyball fans are in for an edge-of-your-seat treat this season. Trailing 14-6 in the final set, host Bloomington came storming back to earn a 14-14 tie and the Purple Raiders went on to claim a tense 25-17, 21-25, 25-22 nonconference win over University High before a large and noisy crowd.

Still Smiling and Calling It As He Sees It

The voice on the other end was upbeat, friendly, quick to share a laugh. It was the Dave Yockey we have come to know. A high school baseball umpire for 34 years and football official for 29, Yockey has been a breath of fresh air for those of us who scribble notes and pound keyboards.

Facing an Old Friendspack to Kick Off Isu Coaching Career Against Former Mentor Spoo and Eiu
